Angela Busheska

Researcher | Founder of EnRoute | Climate Activist | Engineering Student

Hey there! I am Angela, born and raised in North Macedonia.

To escape the toxic bullying in middle school, I found solace in math. I joined math olympiads at 11 years old and left them during COVID, 7 years later. In seventh grade, I got the last place nationally. Three years later, as a high school freshman, I won regionals. As a sophomore, I won 2nd place at nationals. In my junior year, I made the top 12. In the meantime, I won medals at the Iranian Geometry Olympiad and the Mediterranean Mathematics Olympiad. During the process, I also fell in love with physics and led the first-ever Macedonian team to the International Youth Physicist Tournament.

During high school, I participated in debate tournaments and won the Best Debate Scholar’s Cup and Top 5 Best Debater two years in a row. I self-started research on Environment-Friendly Smart Cities, which earned me a Bronze Medal at the Genius Olympiad. Inspired by the Oil Spills in Greece, in my junior year, I invented an efficient and sustainable way of cleaning them. For these endeavors, the President of North Macedonia awarded me the Young Talent Award.

Before college, I took a gap year, during which I took classes with Global Citizen Year and scaled EnRoute from my quarantine room to reach 500,000 people worldwide. Over the past four years, National Geographic, Shawn Mendes, Zendaya, Nico Rosberg, and Kate Brandt have supported EnRoute.

I am a rising senior pursuing a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with a minor in Mathematics. (see coursework here). In my freshman year, I interned at the Google Research Lab. In my sophomore year, I built the accessibility features in Google Slides. In my junior year, I interned at the Microsoft Research Lab, developing LLM to track deforestation.

I believe in the intersection of innovation and entrepreneurship. I am a Neo Scholar and .406 Ventures Fellow. I served as a SAP Innovation Consultant & sat on the Board of Advisors for Take Action Global. At the end of the day, I believe art and science can push humanity forward. I am an unshakable optimist who believes that the power of never giving up is the only thing that can bring miracles in life.
